After coming back from Tokyo, I have to admit that everything seemed alittle darker.
Food didn’t taste as good, even the toilets were not on the same level.
Japanese toilets are in a league of their own. What I’m basically saying is….
I NEED A TOILET THAT SPRAYS WATER UP MY BUTT OK. IS THAT SO MUCH TO ASK!??!
I DON’T FEEL CLEAN WITHOUT THIS FUNCTION IN THE UK. I HAVE NEEDS GOD DAMNIT!
That out the way, we can now focus on what I’m really here to talk to you….
My all time favourite cafe is Monocle, located in Baker Street, London. The cafe is is cross between a Japanese patisserie & Swedish bakery everything just feels right in this cafe. It has the most relaxed & chilled out vibe without the pretension normally associated with “hipster” cafes.
There are 3 things that I come here for:
1) Flat white
2) Japanese Shrimp Sandwiches
3) Japanese Matcha Cheesecakes
Feeling like the cat that got the cream, you’ll normally find me perched on my favourite seat outside the cafe.
Mark my words you have not taste Japanese Shrimp Sandwiches quite like this!
The batter is so thin & has a panko crust that is almost buttery that armours the delicate & chunky pieces of shrimp.
The piece de resistance is the tartare sauce, made with egg, pickles, gherkins and mayo. This sex sauce combined with the golden panko armoured shrimp is heavenly.
Every other sandwich just looks and tastes inferior compared.
Do the noble thing, and order their Japanese shrimp sandwiches when you next come to Monocle.
You’ll ask yourself, why you didn’t listen to me sooner.
Where?
